Press Release: Life, Lessons and Laughter: A DFW Tribute to Mr. Richard Claxton Gregory

A TEXAS TRIBUTE TO DICK GREGORY

Dallas, (Oct. 2, 2017)—Dick Gregory, comedian, activist, nutritionist and father of 11, is revered by many in the Dallas-Fort Worth community. On Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 4 pm, Dallas hosts our very own tribute to the great Richard Claxton Gregory at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, 1309 Canton Street, Dallas, TX, 75202.

Life, Lessons and Laughter is an event honoring Dick Gregory and his legacy. This event is free and open to the public.

“He was very involved in our local area, always giving his time and wisdom to the people of Dallas,” said longtime friend and event organizer, Cheryl Smith.

Attendees can expect musical tributes, a drum procession, comic relief, a chance to send a special message to the family of Dick Gregory, and more.

Books are available for purchase and donations benefiting The Dick Gregory Scholarship Fund will be accepted.
