With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Marvin Louis Woods, a beloved cook, cherished friend, and shining light to all who knew him. Born on September 14, 1959, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Marvin lived a life full of warmth and laughter until his peaceful departure on April 20, 2026, in Dallas, Texas.

Marvin was a man whose spirit could brighten any room. Known affectionately for his quick wit and endless sense of humor, he was a true jokester and an unwaveringly positive soul. His cheerful outlook on life was as comforting as the meals he so lovingly prepared for those around him. Cooking was not just a profession for Marvin; it was his passion and his way of sharing love with others.

Outside the kitchen, Marvin found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He spent many hours watching television, with a special enthusiasm for all sports, which he followed with a lively spirit and boundless energy. These everyday moments reflected the genuine joy he took in life’s little wonders.

Marvin’s family and friends will dearly miss his infectious laughter, generous heart, and uplifting presence. His legacy is one of kindness, warmth, and joy—a legacy that will live on in the stories told, the meals shared, and the memories cherished by those fortunate enough to have known him.

A visitation will be held at the Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224, on April 24, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, allowing friends and loved ones an opportunity to pay their respects and share in remembering Marvin’s vibrant life. The funeral service will follow the next day, on April 25, 2026, at the same location, beginning at 9:00 AM.

Though Marvin’s physical presence has left us, his spirit—a beacon of joy, jokes, positivity, and kindness—will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved him. He taught us to face life with a smile, to find happiness in shared meals and shared moments, and above all, to hold each other close.

Marvin Louis Woods’ journey on this earth may have ended, but his warmth, his light, and his love endure eternally. May we honor him by embracing each day with the same joy and kindness that he so generously gave. Rest in peace, dear Marvin. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
