VISTA BANK AND SMU ATHLETICS LAUNCH THE #MAKEYOURMOVE CONTEST TO RECOGNIZE AND EMPOWER ONE LOCAL BUSINESS

Make Your Move

Dallas, Texas – John D. Steinmetz, President and CEO of Dallas-based Vista Bank, recently announced the #MakeYourMove contest, which will award one company in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex with free advertising to SMU fans as well as small business coaching from the team at Vista Bank. The endeavor, created through Vista Bank’s partnership with SMU Athletics will give the winner the potential to expand their client base and receive valuable tips to take their business to the next level.

Exciting Prizes Await the #MakeYourMove Winner.

In appreciation of the risk, hard work, and diligence business owners have demonstrated in the face of great challenges recently, and the jobs they have created across the metroplex, Vista Bank and SMU’s panel of judges will award one local company with $10,000 worth of advertising to SMU fans. Specifically, the winner can look forward to:

  • 50,000 digital ad impressions on www.smumustangs.com
  • One full-page ad in SMU’s basketball yearbook,
  • Sponsorship of a social media feature for an SMU spring sports team,
  • One 30-second radio ad in each men’s and women’s basketball broadcast,
  • Inclusion in a color ad in the SMU Rotunda campus yearbook
  • Inclusion in a digital basketball signage

Additionally, Vista Bank will provide small business coaching on topics that interest the winner, including reviewing books and business plans, setting and meeting financial goals, finding and retaining clients, and marketing and growing a small business.

“The ‘Make Your Move’ contest truly levels the playing field – allowing small businesses the opportunity to compete for the attention of SMU fans, not to mention the publicity and exposure,” noted Vista Bank President and CEO John D. Steinmetz. “Entrepreneurs Banking Entrepreneurs is more than a motto to us – it’s a mission, and we couldn’t be more pleased to partner with SMU on this initiative.”

Josh White, General Manager at Mustang Sports Properties, added, “SMU has a rich history of supporting entrepreneurship, and our fanbase is full of small business owners. This contest was yet another opportunity to partner with Vista Bank for something that is a true win/win.”

How DFW Businesses Can Enter #MakeYourMove

Entrepreneurs in the region can nominate their businesses on the #MakeYourMove website, where they will answer questions about their company and why they feel they should be selected. Applications opened September 1, 2021, and will be accepted until October 15, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. At that time, a judge’s panel will select five finalists to pitch their business via video, with a winner announced shortly thereafter.

Remember to Support Local Businesses.

Steinmetz added, “While there can only be one winner, this region is incredibly blessed with thousands of local small businesses that we all know and love. This contest is a good reminder to shop local and thank the entrepreneurs who risk their capital each and every day to provide services and jobs in our communities.”
