Free event connects job seekers with public safety agencies – from the FBI and area police to state police departments – offering on-site hiring opportunities across multiple career paths

DALLAS – With a growing demand for public safety professionals across the region, the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center will host the Texas Department of Public Safety (TX DPS) North Region Career Expo on Thursday, April 16, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m., offering North Texans the opportunity to explore careers in public safety and connect directly with hiring agencies. The event is free and open to the public, and pre-registration is encouraged at https://form.jotform.com/260775814972166.Bringing together a range of public safety agencies, the event will feature representatives from DPS and other state and local organizations actively recruiting for a wide variety of roles.
“Events like this are critical as we continue to recruit the next generation of public safety professionals,” said Region Chief Jeremy Sherrod, North Texas Region, Texas Department of Public Safety. “We’re looking for individuals who want to serve their communities in meaningful ways, and this expo gives them a direct path to explore those opportunities.”
Participating agencies include the Louisiana State Police, Oklahoma State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), Texas Department of Public Safety, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), Dallas Police Department, Fort Worth Police Department, Arkansas State Police and DFW Police. The Texas Department of Public Safety will also have representatives on site from its Recruiting team, Crime Lab and Driver License division.In addition to a virtual reality training area inside the Heroes Center, the event will feature a range of outdoor exhibits, including communications – highlighted by a 60-foot command center with on-site application support – as well as drone demonstrations, mounted patrol, the motor unit, a special operations armored vehicle, and the K9 Unit.
Community partners and exhibitors – including Dallas College, Scouting America, the DPS Citizens’ Council and the Frontiers of Flight Museum – will also be on site to provide information and resources.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet recruiters, learn about career pathways, and receive information on qualifications, training, and benefits across multiple departments.
