Senator Royce West

I am deeply disturbed by allegations reported by The Washington Post, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, and other publications and networks, that a Texas Tech University Red Raider football player used a racial slur against a player from the University of Mississippi in yesterday’s TaxAct Texas Bowl in Houston.

I am writing to request that your office institute an immediate investigation of this matter, and submit the results of the same to the public and to my office no later than January 30, 2023.

Royce West
State Senator
District 23
