As part of the Richardson Mayor’s Summer Internship Program, the public is invited to donate kid-friendly snacks for the “Healthy Kids Snack Drive” now through July 28. Benefiting families served by the Network of Community Ministries, the snack drive is organized by high school interns participating in the fifth-annual Richardson Mayor’s Summer Internship Program. Pre-selected items may be purchased online now via the Healthy Kids Snack Drive Amazon Wish List. Donations can also be made in person at the Network of Community Ministries. If dropping off in person, please email Angela Shellene at ashellene@thereedsprc.com to coordinate a time. The project sponsor is Santander Consumer USA.

With rising food and gas prices, these donations are more important than ever for families with tight budgets.

The items will be distributed at the Richardson ISD “Backpack Bash” on July 30 at Richardson High School and Aug. 6 at Lake Highlands High School. The Network of Community Ministries will donate any leftover items to area families.

The Network of Community Ministries is located at 741 S. Sherman St. in Richardson.
