Denton Black Film Festival announced transitioning online

Denton Black Film Festival

The Denton Black Film Festival today announced that it is transitioning many of its live events online amidst the on-going health and safety concerns related to the Omicron variant. 

The festival will still feature more than 100 films that will be available to ticket holders. Festival planners have adjusted the schedule to start showing films at 12:00 am CST on Thursday, January 27 and airing until 11:59 p.m. CST, Sunday, February 6. 

All current ticket holders will be contacted to consider their options. Go to DentonBFF.com to review the pass and ticket options. The VIP Experience Pass allows access to ALL virtual screenings and events; the Five Block Virtual Experience Pass provides your choice of five (5) Individual film screening blocks, and any other ticketed events. Individual tickets to all film screenings and other events are also available for sale.   

The art exhibit, featuring Ciara Elle Bryant, DBFF’s 2022 Artist in Residence, is a multidisciplinary artist who uses photography, video, and installation to explore Black culture in the new millennium. This will be the only in-person offering and may be seen at the UNT CoLab at 207 N Elm St. Denton, TX. 76201 from 11am to 6pm Tuesday thru Saturday from January 26 through February 12, 2022. 

There will be on-going updates to the festival schedule to transition some of the in-person events to virtual experiences. Additional changes will be announced Friday, January 14.
