Hundreds of fraternity and sorority members, community leaders, and corporate sponsors filled the streets of Oak Cliff at Founders Park for the historic UNCF North Texas Walk for Education. The event brought together supporters from across the region to champion a shared cause: empowering students and strengthening Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Kimberly Brady, Area Development Director for UNCF North Texas, emphasized the walk’s impact and legacy.
“For more than 81 years, UNCF has provided HBCUs with vital resources to educate generations of students,” Brady said. “The walks provide much-needed support to our member HBCUs and deserving students. Through scholarship support, we give them the opportunity to earn a college degree and return to better their communities.”
In North Texas alone, UNCF supports nearly 400 students each year with scholarships and programs that open doors to higher education. By investing in students, the walk ensures that the next generation of leaders is equipped to create meaningful change both locally and nationally.
