Parkland Nursing Leader Trinette Pierre, DHA, Elected to ACHE Council of Regents

Trinette K. Pierre, DHA, BSN, RN, CCC, CEC, CHLC, FACHE, NEA-BC, Nurse
Unit Manager at Parkland Health & Hospital System, has been appointed to the Council of Regents, the legislative body of the American College of Healthcare Executives. The Council of Regents serves as the vital link between ACHE and members by approving governance and membership regulations as well as promoting ACHE programs, services and activities within their respective areas.

Dr. Pierre will take office March 20, 2021, prior to ACHE’s 64th Congress on Healthcare Leadership. As a Regent, she will represent ACHE’s membership in North Texas – Region 4 (responsible for Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Fannin, Grayson, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Montague, Navarro, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant and Wise counties). She will serve as Regent for ACHE for a three-year term.

Dr. Pierre’s 30-year career in healthcare began at the bedside as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She earned her Registered Nurse (RN) and has held numerous positions in a variety of healthcare and nursing settings. She is a multi-certified executive consultant/advisor, a Professor of Graduate and Post-graduate Studies (concentrations in healthcare administration, business administration, public health and nursing) and a critical care nurse manager at Parkland.

Throughout her career, Dr. Pierre’s “take care of the caregiver” philosophy has underpinned her dedication to advocate for and serve those within the healthcare profession.

“It’s an absolute honor to be elected to the ACHE Council of Regents,” said Dr. Pierre. “Throughout my career and service, I’ve been committed to excellence and the highest level of quality care for patients and to advancement in education and opportunities for staff. That passion continues today in my role as a dedicated mentor and colleague for frontline providers.”

Board-certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Dr. Pierre is also a Nurse Executive Advanced – Board Certified (NEA-BC) leader. She received her Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) degree from the University of Phoenix in 2015. She also earned her master’s degree in health administration (2010) and her BSN from University of Phoenix. She earned her associate degree in nursing from Charity-Delgado School of Nursing (New Orleans, Louisiana). She has been at Parkland since 2012.
