The Dallas Wings take on the Chicago Sky in the opening round of the 2021 WNBA Playoffs starting tonight on ESPN 2 at 7 p.m. CST. This game will be the first playoff game for Dallas since 2018.

The 7th seeded Wings traveled to Chicago (6th seeded) for this single-game elimination double-header. The New York Liberty and the Phoenix Mercury will play immediately after.

Dallas has faced Chicago three times this season, winning twice, once at College Park Center in Arlington and once at Wintrust Arena. Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale leads the team, averaging 18.3 points against Chicago this season and has averaged 21.8 points per game in the Windy City, including a 35-point game on August 29, 2019.

First-year Wings coach Vickie Johnson is proud of her team but knew they would make it to the playoffs this season.

“I’ve been in this league for 25 years, and when I saw this team in person and being here, I knew that it was going to be something special, you know, and that’s why I said fifth or sixth spot for us, because I knew the capability that we had as a team, and what we could do on both sides of the basketball.”
