“Throughout my career, I was often the youngest person in the room. Today, as one of the oldest in the room, I am humbled and deeply honored to be part of the lives of so many young people who trust me to walk alongside them, encourage them, and support their journey.
“I am a firm believer that every child deserves the opportunity to dream beyond anything they could ever imagine—to see possibilities they never knew existed and believe they have the ability to achieve them.
“Sometimes, all it takes is one unforgettable experience, one inspiring role model, or one person who believes in them to ignite a passion that can change the course of a life.
“That belief is why I am honored to serve as co-chair of the Frontiers of Flight Museum’s 2026 First in Flight Luncheon alongside Jan Osborn.
“On Friday, October 16, we’ll gather to celebrate the pioneers who have shaped aviation while investing in the young people who will shape its future. Every dollar raised through this event supports the Museum’s Aerospace STEM education programs, which provide hands-on learning experiences for more than 75,000 student experiences annually throughout North Texas.
“I’m especially excited that this year’s keynote speaker is Captain Theresa Claiborne. As the first Black woman pilot in the United States Air Force and a trailblazing United Airlines captain, she has spent her career breaking barriers and opening doors for others. Her story reminds us that innovation begins with courage, perseverance, and the belief that possibilities are endless. I know our guests will leave inspired by her remarkable journey and her commitment to encouraging future generations to pursue their dreams.
“The Frontiers of Flight Museum is more than a place to explore aviation history. It is where curiosity is nurtured, confidence is built, and young people discover new possibilities through interactive exhibits, STEM programs, field trips, summer camps and workforce development experiences. For many students, a visit to the Museum is where a lifelong interest in aviation, aerospace, engineering, or science first takes flight.
