UNCF Walk For Education Event Program

Saturday, September 18th at 11 a.m.!

Here is some information on the Virtual Walk for Education on Saturday, September 18. The event will feature appearances by Black-ish actress Jenifer Lewis, Physician, author and television host Dr. Ian Smith, Grammy-nominated Rapper and DJ MC Lyte, UNCF student scholars and others. The virtual event provides much-needed support to our member HBCUs and deserving students through scholarship support, giving them the opportunity to earn a college degree and to help better our communities. We hope you all will join us for this wonderful program!

In advance of the broadcast, we’re hosting a Facebook Live event on Thursday, September 16 at noon CDT (simply search UNCF on Facebook).  My boss, VP of Development, Therese Badon will be joined by MC Lyte to have a lively conversation about education, the upcoming Walk, and a variety of other topics (See the promo graphic below).

The Virtual Walk for Education should be a fun experience and we want you to not only tune-in; but get involved. We know that we here at UNCF like a good competition!  During the weekend of September 18, post your Virtual walk activity to your social media, UNCF Twitter and/or UNCF Facebook using one of the following hashtags #LaceUp4UNCF #UNCFVirtual #UNCF Your submissions have a chance of winning one of the following prizes – $100 gift card, $50 gift card, $25 gift card. You can post pictures or videos. Get creative and include your friends and family. The winning selections will be chosen on Monday, September 20.
