MY TRUTH: Thanks to the VILLAGE

Since 1995, many have supported the effort to fund scholarships, fellowships, internships and jobs for our communities.

Since 1995, many have supported the effort to fund scholarships, fellowships, internships and jobs for our communities.

Last Saturday, there was another successful fundraiser, thanks to generous and committed support for the 2026 Cheryl Smith’s Don’t Believe the Hype Celebrity Bowl-a-thon, held at Plano SuperBowl.

The bowl-a-thon is a fun-filled, family event that was designed to raise money while also encouraging community support and participation. Coming together in the true spirit of a village, we have been able to give hope to individuals, families and
entire communities.

We’ve received support—whether time, resources or money— from so many volunteers and we value those who joined us this year, including Dr. Emmett J.
Conrad Leadership Program interns and alums, Muhammad’s Mosque 48, Psi Chapter of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, the I Messenger Media Team, journalists,
FAMU and other HBCU alums, and members of the Divine 9.

We’re already gearing up for 2027 and we want you to join us by making
your donation, or commitment today.

Call 214-941-0110 for more information. Meanwhile mark your calendar for Saturday,
June 19, 2027 and join us as we celebrate 30 years!
