The 2020 WNBA Champion Seattle Storm visited the White House on Monday and were celebrated and honored by President Joe Biden. This was the first White House visit by an NBA or WNBA championship-winning team since 2016. Then-President Barack Obama celebrated the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers.

President Biden made remarks about the team’s on-court success and their social activism. The Storm have won four total championships – two in the last three years – and were one of the WNBA teams at the forefront of the social justice movement last summer, helping promote voter registration and speaking out against police brutality.

Biden was presented with a souvenir Storm team jersey.
