Screen and stage star Renée Elise Goldsberry is headed to CBS in a new drama series, Cupertino.

Created by Robert and Michelle King, Cupertino is a legal drama about fighting back against powerful corporations. According to Deadline, the series is described as a “David vs. Goliath” story set in Silicon Valley. Mike Colter stars as Michael, a lawyer who was cheated out of his stock options by his former employer, a tech start-up. He forms a team with another fired attorney to represent clients who have been taken advantage of by the rich and greedy tech bros ruling Silicon Valley.

Goldsberry will play opposite Colter as a series regular. Her character, Renee, is described as a “brilliant opposing attorney” who has not only worked with Michael in the past, but was also romantically involved with him as well.

The latest Goldsberry collaboration with the Kings

The series marks the third time Goldsberry has worked with the Kings; she originally starred on The Good Wife and, as Deadline reports, had a small role in Evil. Both series were on CBS, and Colter was the lead in the former, marking a reunion between him and Goldsberry.

Among her extensive credits, Goldsberry is perhaps best known for originating the role of Angelica Schuyler in Broadway’s Hamilton. On the television front recently, she starred in the Peacock (later Netflix) series Girls5Eva and Disney+’s Marvel Television series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
