Rep. Crockett Votes NO on DHS Funding Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Crockett issued the following statement after voting NO on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) appropriations bill, which included an additional $28 billion for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“There’s no way I could vote to give ICE more money. Let’s be clear: ICE is now one of the wealthiest law enforcement agencies in this country, and they continue to prove they are ineffective and unqualified,” said Rep. Crockett. “They are not making our communities safer. They are terrorizing families, kidnapping people, and killing U.S. citizens. So yes — it was a HELL NO.”

Earlier this week, Rep. Crockett introduced the TRACK ICE Act, which would demand transparency on immigration enforcement flights

Last year, Rep. Crockett introduced the CLEAR ID Act to stop anonymous ICE raids and restore accountability.
