Superb Woman: Jayne Kennedy

Born in Washington, DC and raised in Wickliffe, OH, Jayne Kennedy was known for being talented, beautiful, smart and well qualified to be the first Black woman to co-host a major national sports program. A former Miss Ohio USA, she hosted The NFL Today. Jayne is an award-winning actress, singer, dancer, model, sports broadcaster, producer, writer, and philanthropist. In addition to performing for U.S. troops, she hosted the UNCF Telethon. A wife and mother, Jayne was honored by the National Association of Black Journalists Sports Task force at the Organization’s 50th anniversary convention in Cleveland, Ohio. She is the author of “Plain Jayne: A Memoir” which was released in September 2025.
