Superb Woman: Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter was born in Houston, Texas, in 1981 and began her career as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. She launched her solo career with the album Dangerously in Love in 2003, which earned five Grammy Awards and established her as a global star. Beyoncé is a director, producer, and businesswoman, and has been a vocal advocate for racial justice and women’s empowerment. She founded the BeyGOOD Foundation to support underserved communities and used her 2018 Coachella performance to honor historically Black colleges. With more Grammy wins than any artist in history, Beyoncé’s influence stretches far beyond the stage.
