The Kendrick Wade Jr. era has come to an end at Mississippi Valley State after a two-year stint.

Wade will not return as Delta Devils head football coach in 2025, according to a report by The Delta Sports.

MVSU went 2-21 in Wade’s two seasons leading the program, the biggest of those wins being a 24-21 upset at Florida A&M following the death of popular linebacker Ryan Quinney in an automobile accident.

The win snapped Florida A&M’s home win streak at 23 games.

Wade’s departure marks the eighth HBCU football coaching change this offseason, including five already this week. Connell Maynor was dismissed at Alabama A&M, Lee Hull was fired from Delaware State, Adrian Jones was relieved of his duties at Shaw, as was Vincent Brown at North Carolina A&T.
