Kick-off for the 16th Annual Home for the Holidays Celebration

Mayor Pro Tem Tennell Atkins and the Dallas Park and Recreation Department will hold a press conference at Dallas City Hall to announce the 16th annual Home for the Holidays event in partnership with the Dallas Independent School District’s Adopt-A- Family program.

Since 2007 through 2023, we have had support from the Dallas Cowboys players (DeMarcus Ware, Ken Hamlin, Martellus Bennet, Dez Bryant, La’el Collins, Greg Ellis, and Larry Brown).With the FIFA 2026 World Cup on our heels, we want to support and show as much initiated engagement as possible. We will have Haley Berg and Boots the Mascot of Dallas Trinity FC for our athlete and also have State Senator Royce West. The Home for the Holidays event has served over 8,000 meals and adopted more than 580 families living in Southern Dallas.
