In remembrance of Alma Jean Miller . With immense sorrow, we bid farewell to a remarkable soul who graced this world with her presence as a dedicated Caretaker. Alma’s legacy is one of compassion and selflessness, touching the lives of many through her acts of service and kindness.
Born on July 27, 1937 as the oldest child of 15 to Henry and Zenada Smith. Alma attended Palestine TX Independent School District. Alma Jean was honored of being the mother to Chinetha (preceded in death) and her name sake Alma Lois Smith. Alma Jean moved to Dallas and met the love of her life Daniel Miller until he took his rest. Alma Jean received more joy when the birth of her grandson, Kenneth Wayne Smith which became , The apple of her eye. She is the great grandmother to her loving and caring Great granddaughter Deandra (Shaun RC) and great grandson Kendric. She is also the great great grandmother to 8 amazing children.
Alma leaves to love her from earth nine siblings, Darlene (Joseph), William Earl (Bethel) Smith, Lee Clayton (Patsy) Smith, Marie Smith (Alma’s Jean little sister and best friend), Lester Smith, Johnny, Margaret Faye, Laura Ann (Carl), Eldora. Waiting to receive her in eternity is her parents, the love of her life, her daughter (Chinetha), her siblings, George Smith, Doris Smith, Mary Smith, Diane Speed and Laverne Smith.
Alma’s legacy also includes her love and life spent with her extended family which includes Mimi, Big Daddy, Rik (Kellie) Crews, Jennifer (husband), Carbon (wife), Jake (Cristina) Christen (Baby Girl), Frank; goddaughter, Da’Ashlaun Beckwith “DaDa”.
There is a host of nieces, nephews and friends left to remember Alma Jean in their own special way.
Alma was a beacon of light in her community, known for her culinary prowess in cooking and baking; her creations not only delighted the taste buds but also filled the air with her signature scent that brought comfort to all around her. Her sense of style was unmatched, always appearing elegant and polished – a true fashion icon in every sense.
Beyond her talents in the kitchen and wardrobe, Alma was an active member of her church, serving on numerous ministries with unwavering dedication. Her faith was the guiding force behind all her actions, radiating through her loving, caring, and generous personality that endeared her to all who crossed her path.
As we mourn the loss of Alma Jean Miller, we find solace in knowing that she now rests in eternal peace. Her memory will continue to inspire us to be kinder, more compassionate souls. May we carry forward her legacy of selflessness and love.
Services to honor and celebrate Alma’s life will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas for a Prayer Service on April 26, 2024, followed by a Funeral Service at Way of The Cross Missionary Baptist Church on April 27, 2024. Let us come together to pay our respects and bid farewell to a remarkable woman whose spirit will live on forever.
