Willie George Taylor Jr., a retired Air Force veteran and facilities manager the City of Richardson, has passed away on January 22, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. He was born on November 10, 1933, in Tucker, Arkansas. Willie’s life was one that exemplified dedication, service, and a deep love for his country.

After graduating from high school, Willie chose to serve his nation by joining the Air Force. His military service was marked by bravery and commitment. Willie’s time in the Air Force instilled in him a sense of duty and honor that would continue to guide him throughout his life.

Upon retiring from the military, Willie transitioned into a new chapter of his life as a facilities manager at the City of Richardson. In this role, he demonstrated exceptional professionalism and dedication to ensuring that the community’s infrastructure ran smoothly. Willie’s hard work and attention to detail were renowned among his colleagues and friends.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Willie cherished the time spent with his beloved spouse, Ernestine Taylor. Their bond was one built on love, trust, and shared experiences. Together they formed a strong and unbreakable partnership that touched the lives of all who knew them.

Willie’s passing leaves behind not only a void in the lives of his family and friends but also within the broader community. The impact of his warm smile, compassionate nature, and willingness to lend a helping hand will forever be remembered by all those who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.

To honor Willie’s memory and pay tribute to his remarkable life, there will be several events held in remembrance of him. The viewing will take place on February 1, 2024, at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas located at 4155 S R.L. Thornton Fwy in Dallas from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The funeral service will be held on February 2, 2024, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church situated at 4545 Vandervort Dr in Dallas. The service will commence at 11:00 AM, providing an opportunity for mourners to come together and celebrate the beautiful life that Willie lived.

Following the funeral service, on February 5, 2024, a burial ceremony will take place at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy in Dallas. This solemn event will commence at 9:30 AM and provide a final resting place for Willie.

As we say goodbye to Willie George Taylor Jr., let us remember him as a man who embodied the values of integrity, loyalty, and selflessness. His legacy of service to his country and community will continue to inspire and make a difference in the lives of those he leaves behind.
