Social justice has been a nonstop conversation across the country and Dallas Children’s Theater (DCT) is keeping the chatter alive with the help of award-winning playwright Idris Goodwin who is offering his plays that focus on race in America, digitally and free of charge to DCT audiences.
DCT officials say it can be hard to talk about race to children and the plays are meant to educate and inform children while also helping parents initiate discussions.
“A lot of people come to us for entertainment,” said Sandra Session-Robertson, Senior Director of Communications and Philanthropy. “We know the power of theater and we feel like it’s our responsibility to invite conversations,
Goodwin’s projects include: Hype Man: A Break Beat Play and This Corner: Cassius Clay, How We Got On.
