The Dallas Independent School District Uniform Assistance Program is helping students who qualify by providing free uniforms.

To be eligible for a uniform, the student must be in Pre-K through eighth grade and receive free or reduced lunch.

The program will give official colors for the uniforms that range from white, navy, and black and pants, skirts and shorts are available.

To receive a uniform, a request must be made to the district uniform coordinator.

Liliana Valadez, executive director of parent advocacy and support services at DISD, said she is confident that the program will help families in this critical time.

“Although a resource for families in need every year, it is especially important this year since so many of our families can benefit from any support we can provide,” Valadez said.

As Dallas gets colder, students will be able to wear any color coat and jacket over their uniforms, but hoodies will not be tolerated inside DISD’s schools.
