The Black Women Lawyers Association of Tarrant County has selected its 2020 Charlye O. Farris Scholarship winners. The Association, which exists to identify and address the issues impacting black women lawyers in order to increase their numbers and success in the legal profession, provided seven scholarships this year, even without it’s annual Hotter Than July Happy Hour fundraiser.
“It is a testament to the strength of Black lady lawyers that the organization was still able to help law students during this global pandemic,” said Attorney Valerie D. Baston.
In order to be considered for a scholarship, most applicants must be currently enrolled in a law school and be in good standing. Students completing an undergraduate program may be able to apply but verification of your acceptance and enrollment in law school must be provided to BWL.
