Dannie V. Goree

August 19, 1926 – January 26, 2023

My name is Dannie Veatrice Goree, but I am also known as Mom, Grandma Dannie, GMa, Miss Dannie, Mama Goree and when I got in trouble as a child, “Dannie V.”
Dannie V Goree
I was born August 19, 1926 in Luxora, Arkansas. My father was Elisha Mabins – a preacher, farmer, barber and shoe repair man. My mother was Ruby Dannie Cameron – a seamstress, homemaker and a fabulous cook (ummm, I really loved her fried pies, fried chicken, biscuits and gravy). I moved to over 25 places in my life time, but these were my favorite and life-changing stops that I lovingly called home: Dallas, Memphis, Halls Tennessee, Beloit Wisconsin, Los Angeles and Altadena, California – where I helped raise a family with my second husband Jim Goree, my son and his three children; Larcena (Lucky), Wilberdale (Mickey) and James (Sonny). In Beloit, I met and married my first husband, Lee O. Triggs Sr, an Army Air Corps veteran and Los Angeles Police Officer for 23 years. Our only son Lee O. “Leo” Triggs Jr. was born in Los Angeles and his marriage to Michele Elizabeth Scott in 1968 would begin a 55 year (and counting) blessing of growing my loving Family Tree, which includes: 4 Grandsons Lee III, Scott, Ryan, Todd; their wives Teri, Leigha, Elizabeth Felicia and Candi; 12 Great Grandchildren Eric, Marissa, Tyler, Tevin, Saryn, Mari, Cali, Kelsi, Lincoln, Felicity, Tahlia, Aurelia; 4 Great-great grandchildren Sariah, Jocelyn, Kingston and Kannon. I have truly lived a life that allowed me to pursue my passions (Journaling), interests (Bridge) and work-life in real estate. From a humble elevator operator I evolved to be a productive Pacific Bell and Avon sales associate to become a successful real estate broker in California, helping to generate over 50 million dollars in home equity profits for my family, personal and client-friends. I praise God for all of my loving relatives, close friends and church-family that have graced my life throughout the years. Each one of you has been a vital and vibrant stitch in the beautiful tapestry of my journey. I pray that your memories of me will fill you with love, and peace.
