Burton L Gans

Rev. Burton Lawless Gans was born in Orange, Texas on January 21,1979, to Cester Bowens Gans and Matthew Gans Jr. Burton was raised in a Christian home. He united at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was baptized. Burton has always loved God and his word. Even as a toddler, Burton would often preach to family and friends, about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He attended West Orange Stark High School and graduated in 1997. He also excelled in football and was named to First Team All-District.

Following graduation, Burton attended Texas A&M Kingsville and later gained his certification as an electrical lineman. In this capacity, he served in restoration efforts in New Orleans, Louisiana, after Hurricane Katrina and in the Southeast Texas, Hurricane Rita. At age 18, he accepted his call to the Christian ministry. After serving as an associate minister at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Burton accepted the charge to lead as pastor at Salem M.B.C. His anointed preaching was impactful to both local and national assemblies. Burton’s servant leadership impacted, not only Salem M.B.C., but the entire community and beyond. Burton continued to pastor until his health limited his activities; however, he never stopped sharing the Gospel to all he encountered.

He was preceded in death by his father Matthew Gans Jr. Rev. Gans leaves to cherish precious memories to his two caring children, MaKayla and Blane Gans.(Crystal Powdrill Gans) Both of Beaumont, Texas. Mother, Cester Bowens Gans, Dallas, Texas. Brother, Milton Gans of Houston, Texas, sister Ceena Gans of Dallas, Texas. Two uncles, Ray Bowens(Erma) of Flower Mound, Texas, Curtis Bowens(Pat) of Red Oak, Texas. Five aunts, Evola Griffin(Walter) of Dallas, Texas, Doris Frazier of Dallas, Texas, Brendia Bowens-Jackson(Don) of Dallas, Texas, Alice Norwood(Thomas) of Orange, Texas, and Sarah Thompson(Samuel) of Orange, Texas, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
