Alnedia Smith

She moved to Santa Monica, California in the late 1960’s where she would live for 50 years before returning to her childhood home of Dallas in 2017 to be closer to family and old friends. Over the years Neda touch the lives of many and was always seen with a smile. She was committed to her work in Finance where she was instrumental in the completion of various developments in the Los Angeles area and prided herself on being great with numbers. She was a movie buff and loved to watch old westerns, dramas and action movies by some of the old actor/actresses of the 70s and 80s and you could count on her suggestions of movies to be worth the watch. She found great joy in her work and in helping others. She had a mantra of always being willing to try to help those in need.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Phillip Smith. She is survived by sister Lois Wilkerson-Walker, brother James E. Smith, with a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces who all were fond of her and she of them.

Her presence will be missed.

Scripture:

Philippians 2:1-4

1 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in very nature, God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;

7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

A graveside service for Alnedia will be held Monday, January 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Laurel Land Mem Park – Dallas, 6300 S. R.L. Thornton Frwy., Dallas, TX 75232.
