These days, there’s only one right way to do a gender reveal: over the top! Take this Atlanta couple’s HBCU-inspired one for example; the AUC couple found it important to instill HBCU pride early and found out mom is giving birth to a fellow Spelmanite!

Today, we have a family of six who’s wondering the same question as every other family expecting a new member: boy or girl? Mother and certified relationship coach, Folashade Butler, wrote in an Instagram caption, “I’ve run the gamut of emotions. Believe me. But what I’ve learned through this pregnancy is that EYE am not in control, God is. I mean it is laughable to think of all the things that I thought were in my control but clearly are not. So yeah, this pregnancy was a reminder and a lesson in trusting God and knowing that He, and only He, has the final say.” Read more below:

Instead of doing the typical blasting of blue or pink powder, the family decided to have a battle of the sexes. Team Boy was dressed in blue while Team Girl was dressed in pink! They snapped photos and shared laughs until it was time to pop the colored confetti. The children pulled the strings and out came blue — Team Boy won!

Mrs. Butler was kind enough to share with us her reaction to the gender of her baby, saying, “We thought we might be having a baby girl because of some of the similarities from my other pregnancies so the surprised looks were absolutely genuine. Though we were not expecting to have more kids after the twins, we are absolutely overjoyed to welcome our son to the family!”

Congratulations to the Butler family!
