Eulogy for Soror Renee DeLana Cofield

Soror Renee DeLana Cofield

Soror R. DeLana Cofield of Mckinney TX, was born on August 6, 1952 and transitioned to her heavenly home on September 1, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. RG Cofield; mother, Maye D. Cofield; daughter, Jillian Cofield Faggett and son, Jason Cofield Garrett.  

Soror Cofield leaves to mourn, her loving son, Jon Faggett Cofield of Houston, TX; Granddaughter, Jacee Garrett at Louisiana Tech, Lafayette LA.; her brother Reggie Cofield (Mary), McKinney, TX; sister, Verdeola Cofield Propes (David) of Dallas TX; and a host of nieces, nephews and Sorority Sisters who loved her beyond words! 

Soror Cofield was a faithful member of Believers Tabernacle, with HER Pastor, Rev. Cynthia Allen. DeLana was a Diamond Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She was initiated on May 9, 1970 into the Amazin’ Zeta Eta Chapter at then, North Texas State University (now UNT) of Denton, TX, where she served as Chapter President in 1971. Soror Cofield was also a Charter member of Denton County Alumnae Chapter (DCAC) of Denton TX and a Charter member of the Delta Public Service Foundation of Denton County, a non-profit 501 © 3 Organization where she served as Treasurer. In 2020, Soror DeLana received National recognition for 50 years of Membership and Service to her Beloved Sisterhood!

Soror Cofield was a loyal member of DCAC where her last dedicated service was that of Risk Management Chair for the 2021-2022 sorority year. She lived her lifetime commitment.
