South Oak Cliff wide receiver Randy Reece announced his commitment to SMU on Sunday night.

Reece’s teammate and quarterback at South Oak Cliff, Kevin Henry-Jennings, committed to SMU in December. The two of them helped SOC win the 5A state championship in 2021. Reece’s 18-yard TD reception late in the state semifinal game vs. Aledo was a critical part of the Bears’ run.

Reece is a 5-10, 185-pound wide receiver who is currently without a star rating on 247Sports. He was also recruited by Houston, Arizona, Georgia Tech, Indiana and Kansas.

As a junior Reece was named as the offensive MVP in District 6-5A after compiling 46 receptions, 865 yards and 10 touchdowns for the state-champion Golden Bears. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Reece is the third commitment from the recruiting class of 2023 that SMU has landed, along with Lovejoy wide receiver Jaxson Lavender and Frisco’s Brandon Miyazono.
