Park Of The Month For November – South Oak Cliff Renaissance Park!

South Oak Cliff Renaissance Park

Mayor Eric Johnson spoke at the grand opening for South Oak Cliff Renaissance Park and said, the park, located at 405 E. Overton Road, is an “incredible new asset for the city.”

South Oak Cliff Renaissance Park, located down the block from South Oak Cliff High School, was funded almost entirely through donations to The Trust for Public Land, which has helped build parks across the city. About three dozen philanthropic partners contributed more than $2.2 million to make this dream into a reality.

This park has some amazing features such as off-grid solar-powered lighting, fitness equipment, and a rock-climbing boulder funded by The North Face.

The park is part of something amazing that is happening across Dallas. Through public-private partnerships, Dallas is getting rid of blight and illegal dumping grounds and ugly surface parking lots. And in their place, the city is building new parks and trails that help make communities safer, more vibrant, and more resilient.
