DALLAS, October 20, 2021The FIVEE Bistro and Bar is celebrating its grand opening with a block party event – Last Sunday’s Thriller! This will be an all-day event with activities for the entire family. The FIVEE Bistro and Bar opens at 11 a.m. on Sundays and will begin with a Sunday musical brunch and Trick-or-Treating during the day with candy tables on their outdoor patio hosted by local community organizations. That evening beginning at 7 p.m., the grand opening celebration will continue with a Halloween costume party featuring a live performance by actress, songwriter, and national recording artist, Tweet. Tweet will also host a “Sip & Meet” featuring her newly debuted wine, “A Star Moscato” by Southern Hummingbird Wine, available to event attendees.

The restaurant is owned by Fayth Jefferson and was founded by her late brother, a well-known community leader, social entrepreneur, and activist Omar Jahwar. The FIVEE was based on one of the core principles from his high-five model, social interaction. Jahwar, a Dallas native, is internationally known for ending street violence, strengthening communities, and promoting strong families. He spent 23 years promoting strong families, advocating for peace, and working to transform toxic elements of urban culture. Bishop Omar inspired and provided transformative solutions around the country for businesses, artists, educational institutions and school districts, cultural leaders, nonprofit organizations, congregations, and communities.

The FIVEE is the last extension of Jawar’s legacy that he developed before his passing.

Located on Botham Jean Blvd, a street commemorating the late Botham Jean, who was murdered in his home by a former police officer, the restaurant carries on a dual-legacy to serve its community in honor of both men.

The FIVEE, known throughout Dallas as “The Soul of the Cedars,” brings a unique concept, which merges excellent food and legendary live entertainment. This element has been missing in the Dallas restaurant and entertainment scene. The FIVEE is more than a restaurant. It is a social gathering hub that promotes positive social interactions in an upscale urban environment.  The menu consists of “American food with a soulful twist,” a great ambiance, and a positive social experience. The FIVEE also has live entertainment every weekend, featuring performances from some of the best musical artists in Dallas, live music with well-known disc jockeys, and special events from national recording artists of various genres. The FIVEE also hosts private parties and special events.

Local artists, Dezi 5, Sir Maddox, Jada Arnell, Eve V, Claude Alexander, and Mandi will also perform live during the grand opening event. Last Sunday’s Thriller! is presented by 3life, which is owned by Daniel Jones, a world-renowned musical director for many celebrities including Janet Jackson. Halloween costumes are recommended, but not required.

“I am so proud to continue my brother’s legacy in the Dallas community through the FIVEE,” said restaurant owner, Fayth Jefferson. “Omar was the community. He was known, loved, and respected by people here. We hope to keep that going through The FIVEE”.

The restaurant is located at 1319 Botham Jean Blvd. Tickets are available here on Eventbrite.
