As part of its continued commitment to empowering young women through leadership development, scholarship, and social engagement, the Delta Academy Committee of the Dallas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. recently hosted an etiquette luncheon for 10 young ladies at an Olive Garden restaurant.

The special event was designed to expose participants to the importance of social etiquette, grace, and presentation in both academic and social settings. During the luncheon, the young ladies participated in an interactive etiquette session focused on table graces, dining manners, proper eating positions, and the art of meaningful conversation while enjoying an Italian-style dining experience.

To reinforce the learning, the young ladies were provided a pocket-size reference guide to use in future settings.

Adding to the sophistication of the afternoon, the young ladies embraced the occasion dressed in an array of beautiful pastel colors accented with stylish fascinators, creating an atmosphere of elegance, confidence, and sisterhood.

The event supported the strategic priorities of Delta Academy by fostering self-awareness, poise, leadership, and cultural refinement among participants. Through experiences such as these, Delta Academy continues to provide young women with opportunities that build confidence, character, and lifelong skills for personal and professional success.

The luncheon drew the attention and admiration of restaurant patrons, staff members, parents, and onlookers throughout the afternoon. Witnesses were highly complimentary of both the event and the life skills being intentionally shared with the young ladies.

Several restaurant staff members expressed appreciation for the professionalism, manners, and respectful behavior demonstrated by the participants. Parents and patrons offered words of encouragement and praise, noting how refreshing it was to see young ladies displaying such grace, confidence, and etiquette in a public setting.

Sorors and volunteers shared that the luncheon was not only a lesson in etiquette, but also a memorable opportunity for the young ladies to practice confidence, communication, and grace in a real-world setting.
