Born on February 20, 1942, in Dallas, Alfonso’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and service—a legacy that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
Alfonso was a man of many talents and passions, a true embodiment of generosity and warmth. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether it was the thrill of a perfect golf swing, the camaraderie of a softball game, or the pride he took in coaching pee-wee football. His dedication to young athletes extended beyond the field, as he nurtured and encouraged countless children, instilling in them values of teamwork and perseverance.
His faith was a cornerstone of his existence. Serving as a deacon at the Community Missionary Baptist Church in DeSoto, Texas, Alfonso offered both guidance and comfort to his congregation. He was known not only for his spiritual leadership but also for his open heart and giving nature, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
A veteran of the United States Army, Alfonso carried the discipline and honor of his military service into every aspect of his life. Yet, despite his many roles, he found his proudest accomplishment in family. The love he held for his family was unwavering, a source of immense pride and joy throughout his years.

Family and friends are invited to honor Alfonso’s memory at a visitation on April 22, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. His funeral service will be held at the Community Missionary Baptist Church, 115 W Belt Line Rd, DeSoto, TX 75115, on April 24, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM. The final tribute will take place with his burial at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on April 28, 2026, from 9:15 AM a
