On Thursday, April 16, the Howard University Nursing Club hosted a Nurse Appreciation Initiative, recognizing the dedication and impact of HUH nurses while strengthening connections between students and clinical staff.
As part of the initiative, nursing students distributed small goodie bags on clinical units to express their gratitude for the mentorship, guidance, and hands-on learning experiences they receive from HUH nurses during clinical rotations and practicums.
The event highlighted the critical role HUH plays in preparing future nurses — particularly as the nation continues to face a shortage of minority nursing professionals. By providing real-world training, mentorship, and exposure to diverse patient populations, HUH continues to serve as a key pipeline for developing a more representative and culturally competent healthcare workforce.
