
Gladys H. Declouet is a trailblazer, a pioneer, and someone who paved the way for others like her to follow. Beginning her career at Conoco Oil, she was the first female engineer in offshore oil and gas exploration and production. Moving from oil to the restaurant industry, her portfolio includes stints at British Petroleum, Burger King, and Jack in the Box. She was the Valedictorian of William M. Raines High School’s Class of 1975. She has an MBA in Finance & Investment Banking from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a Summa Cum Laude BS in Mechanical Engineering from Tuskegee University. She is the author of “A Layered Life: Breaking Barriers as a trailblazing Black Woman in Corporate America.”
