The alert advised people to go to the nearest room and lock it down.
Students received alerts from campus security at Dallas College’s Mountain View campus about a campus lockdown Saturday evening.
At about 7:24 p.m., the Dallas College Police Department issued an “all clear” message, according to Liz Scruggs, Dallas College’s associate deputy chief of communications.
The police department received reports of a suspicious person on or near campus, Scruggs told The Dallas Morning News. The alert message was issued “out of an abundance of caution,” she said.
The original alert advised students to go to the nearest room and lock it.
“If not at campus STAY AWAY,” the alert message read.
