WILMER, TX – The City of Wilmer, on behalf of the Wilmer Economic Development Corporation, extends congratulations to Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Economic Development and & Tour Office for earning Site Selection Magazine’s 2025 Governor’s Cup. The recognition marks the 14th consecutive year Texas has been named the nation’s top-performing state for business attraction and expansion.
The City also expresses appreciation for the invitation to attend the Governor’s Cup celebration, recognizing the statewide partnership that continues to drive economic growth and opportunity.
The Governor’s Cup is awarded annually by Site Selection Magazine based on the total number of qualified corporate expansion and relocation projects in each state. Reports indicate Texas attracted more than 1,400 business location and expansion projects in 2025, representing more than $75 billion in capital investment and more than 42,000 new jobs created statewide.
That sustained momentum is reflected locally. In 2025, John Paul Mitchell Systems expanded to North Texas with a new corporate headquarters and product distribution center in Wilmer, further strengthening the region’s role as a logistics and distribution hub.
