April Benita Johnson, born on May 19, 1965, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at her home in Dallas. She was a beloved member of her community and a dedicated professional, known for her long career as a cook for a school district.

April’s passion for cooking was evident in everything she did; her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she delighted in preparing meals for family and friends alike. She cherished the memories made around the dining table, where love and laughter accompanied each meal. Friends and family alike describe her as someone who made no strangers; her warmth and kindness were felt by everyone she met.

In addition to her culinary talents, April had an affinity for nature, often spending time working in her yard surrounded by flowers and plants. She took great pride in maintaining a clean house, creating a welcoming environment filled with love. Her love for movies, particularly her favorite, “Imitation of Life,” showcased her appreciation for storytelling and the human experience.

A funeral service is scheduled for February 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, Allene Chapel located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. Friends and loved ones are invited to join in celebrating her life and the many ways she touched those around her.
