Obit: Brenda Morney Chappell

Brenda Morney Chappell, a beloved chef and a radiant spirit, passed away on November 8, 2025, in the city she called home, Dallas, Texas. Born on June 20, 1957, Brenda’s life was a tapestry woven with the threads of love, creativity, and an unwavering generosity that touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Brenda grew up in Dallas and proudly graduated from J N Ervin High School, Class of 1975. Her exceptional culinary skills brought warmth to gatherings and joy to many, as she crafted dishes infused with both skill and love. With an infectious bubbly personality, she was always the heart of every celebration, offering her time and talents tirelessly. Her kitchen was not just a place to prepare meals; it was a haven of laughter, friendship, and love shared among family and friends.

Her memory is etched with anecdotes of her remarkable ability to navigate the sprawling DFW Metroplex with the adeptness of a seasoned traveler, having mastered the dart system for getting around. This talent spoke not just to her navigation skills but also to her adventurous spirit. Brenda cherished exploration, whether it was easy-going outings at the lake or embarking on travels to places anew. Each experience was a chapter in her life that she approached with enthusiasm and boundless curiosity.

Beyond her culinary adventures, Brenda embraced life’s smaller joys with zest. She found delight in crossword puzzles and excursions to Ross, discovering treasures both for herself and others. Each joyful activity she pursued reflected her generous soul, always aiming to do something special for those around her.

Her passing leaves a void that is palpable; those who knew her will forever remember her sweet nature, her willingness to give, and the love she shared so freely. Family, friends, and acquaintances alike can attest to her enduring presence in their lives – a guiding light of kindness and warmth.

A remembrance of her extraordinary spirit and a celebration of her life will be held on November 24, 2025, beginning with a viewing at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a wake service at the same location at 6:00 PM-7:00 pm. A funeral service will take place the next day, November 25, at 11:00 AM, also at Golden Gate Funeral Home.
