Join Us For The Georgetown-To-Austin Moral March For Democracy!

The Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, the Texas Poor People’s Campaign and our partners invite you for a Georgetown-to-Austin Moral March for Democracy culminating in a Rally at the Texas State Capitol on Saturday, July 31 @ 10am CT.

We demand Congress act now to stop attacks on democracy:

  • End the filibuster
  • Pass all provisions of the For the People Act
  • Fully restore the 1965 Voting Rights Act
  • Raise the federal minimum wage to $15/hr
  • Permanent protections, dignity & respect for all 11 million undocumented immigrants

Please note that we have very strict COVID-19 rules and procedures in place. We are requiring that everyone who marches on July 28-30 show proof of vaccination, and that everyone wears a mask while inside any of our facilities or shuttle buses along the route.  Please read our full list of COVID-19 protocols before attending the march.

Below you will find an agenda for the march along with the corresponding registration pages for various activities during the march.

Since we have had so many people RSVP to participate, we have chosen to limit the size of the march to 125 total marchers at any one time for the first 3 days of the march. The march will be broken down into 3 hour time slots. This will allow over 900 people to take part safely. You must register to be able to participate in the march taking place on July 28-30.

On the last day of the march, July 31, everyone is invited to participate, and there will be NO restrictions on the number of people who are allowed to attend. In fact, we are expecting thousands of people to march in the last mile to the Capitol, as they did in the final mile of the Selma to Montgomery march.  If you would like to receive the starting location of the final portion of the march that will be taking place on Saturday morning, simply RSVP to the event here and we will send you that location when it is finalized.

Bus rides will only be provided on July 31 from Houston, Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio. Please click here if you would like to reserve a spot on one of the buses.
