Dallas Love Field Opens Donation Drive to Support Hundreds of Airport Federal Workers Amid Government Shutdown

Donation

In a show of solidarity, Dallas Love Field is stepping up to meet the needs of its over 300 federal workers affected by the extensive government shutdown.

The airport is hosting a week-long donation drive from November 3 to 7, collecting a variety of items, including non-perishable foods and personal hygiene products.

“Operations at Dallas Love Field have remained relatively normal throughout the shutdown because our federal workers have not wavered in their commitment to ensuring air travel remains safe and our airport operates efficiently,” City of Dallas Aviation Director Patrick Carreno said. “It is our turn to show them support and provide some much-needed relief to them and their families.”

The community is invited to participate in the donation drive by dropping off items at the following on-site and nearby locations:

  • Dallas Love Field – Main Info Booth
    8008 Herb Kelleher Way
    Hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
(Garages A & B are free for the first 30 minutes. Garage C is free for the first 59 minutes)
  • Dallas Love Field – Cellphone Waiting Lot
Hawes Avenue and Herb Kelleher Way (NE Corner)
    Hours: 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Maurice Rayshun Smith Administration Building
    7555 Lemon Avenue
    Hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Donors may also contact Dallas Love Field’s TSA point of contact, Joel Barron, at (214) 952-5942 or via email at Joel.Barron@tsa.dhs.gov to coordinate large or private donations.

This drive supports federal workers at Dallas Love Field only.
