Acclaimed Critic Makes Stop at SMU

Many showed up to greet and hear from Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Robin Givhan during her stop at Southern Methodist University (SMU) for a conversation and book signing of her latest book, “Make it Our Own” Crashing the Gates of Culture with Virgil Abloh. Givhan is the former senior critic-at-large for The Washington Post, having served at the publication for 25 years. Her visit to SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts on Oct. 22, 2025 in the Owen Arts Center was dubbed “The Making of Virgil Abloh: Sneakers, Social Media & Social Justice.”
