
Deshaundra Lockhart Jones hails from Dallas. She attended East Texas A&M University – Commerce where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services, and then a Masters of Art Degree from Amberton University. She is the third African American woman elected to the DeSoto City Council. For nearly a decade she served on the Council and she has also been an independent business owner with AFLAC. An active community servant, she is known for her advocacy and support of women, as well as her leadership skills. Family is important to her, and she is spiritually grounded.
