The 5th Annual Roland Parrish Celebrity Golf Tournament was more than just a day on the greens; it was a celebration of community, opportunity, and giving back. The fundraiser, held at a Black-owned golf course in Dallas, brought together over 200 golfers, 38 teams, and dozens of sponsors, including major corporations like the Mavericks, Rangers, Bank of America, and Southwest. In just a few hours, the event raised over $100,000, with 100% of the proceeds going toward scholarships and financial assistance for Texas students.

Roland Parrish explained, “To continue doing something successful and good for the community feels very rewarding and self-satisfying. The basis of our foundation is Luke 12:48: ‘To whom much is given, much is required.’ We give about $300,000 back to the community through scholarships and financial assistance for underserved junior high and high school students who might not otherwise have the means.”

One of the attendees, well-known journalist, commentator, and author Roland Martin, praised the work, saying, “He is a highly successful businessman, and what he does is critically important. It’s great being out here at this Black-owned golf course and seeing him support the high school efforts. That’s just awesome.”

The tournament also offered unique networking opportunities, bringing together leaders from Children’s Health, major banks, and other organizations. By partnering with Dallas ISD, Major League Baseball, and local universities, the foundation has provided internships and mentorships for minority students, creating opportunities that extend far beyond the golf course.
