Black Business: Beautiful Curly Me

Beautiful Curly Me began with a 6-year-old girl named Zoe. One day, she came home from school and asked her Mom why her hair wasn’t straight and “pretty” like her classmates. She didn’t like her hair, and she struggled with accepting herself. Her mom felt terrible and wondered how she could help Zoe see herself the way she truly was. Zoe’s mom encouraged her with positive affirmations, books, and even decided to start wearing her hair natural to encourage her. She also bought her a Black doll. All this worked wonders, and Zoe began to feel more confident about herself.
She asked why this doll has skin like hers, but her hair is still straight. She wishes the doll had braids and curls like hers. She asked Mom if they could make dolls that she and other girls like her could relate to, and Beautiful Curly Me was born. Visit the website to shop for the dolls and more.
