WILMER, TX – The Wilmer City Council recognized much loved southern Dallas developer Mike Rader at a recent city council meeting presenting him with a proclamation for his ongoing development and support of the city.
Rader is the President of Prime Rail Interests, LLC and Prime 45 Development, LLC.
The city presented Rader with the proclamation highlighting his commitment to the growth and development of the area and the greater North Texas region overall through his visionary leadership in the commercial real estate industry.
“Wilmer has grown over the last years in such a way that its vision has stretched into the future and into realms at one time we had never dreamed possible,” said Wilmer Mayor Sheila Petta. “Mike saw the future and worked over the years with Wilmer and the entire southern Dallas area and his vision is now a reality that continues creating positive change in our city, while also allowing Wilmer to maintain its charm.”
The proclamation read aloud to a standing room only crowd detailed Rader’s recognition of the strategic value of the DFW logistics corridor along Interstates 20, 35, and 45. Through that vision Rader became a “pioneering force in assembling properties, developing industrial infrastructure, and leading investment partnerships that have transformed the regional landscape.”
A few accolades that were mentioned included that in 2004 Rader was instrumental in bringing Union Pacific’s $100 million Intermodal Facility to the cities of Wilmer and Hutchins. In 2005, he and his partners developed 900 acres along Interstate 45 to create the Sunridge Business Park, an 8 million-square-foot industrial hub, and in 2011 he expanded this initiative with the development of Prime Pointe, a 3,000-acre premier rail-served industrial park.
Rader has played a vital role in developing more than 8,000 acres in Wilmer, Hutchins, Lancaster, and Dallas, making the Inland Port one of the fastest growing industrial regions in the United States.
He was also inducted into the 2025 North Texas Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame on April 30, 2025.
“I am very proud of the city of Wilmer,” Rader said after receiving the evening’s recognition at the City Council meeting. “In about 1984 I saw all this land and said somebody must develop here. I had a vision for the area and it has really come very close. In 2024 the City of Wilmer had a $2.5 million taxbase and that is a lot of growth. I project it is going to double that because of the community, mayors, city councils and the people I have worked with alongside me over the years.”
