By Sylvia Powers

The 50th anniversary celebration of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) concluded with its traditional Gospel Brunch, featuring a powerful performance by the local Cleveland Chorale.

“It has been an honor to perform for such a prestigious group that has its roots in the civil rights movement,” said David Gulley, director of the Cleveland Chorale. “As we perform, we pay homage to our predecessors and the 44 members who founded this organization 50 years ago.” The ensemble is made up of members from across the Cleveland area.

Alisha Blackmon-Talbert the founder and Executive Director of Love in Action Ohio gave an inspiring message to encourage journalists to come out of the darkness into the light.
