Nominations Being Accepted For 2026 AAEAHP Educators’ HALL OF FAME

(DALLAS, TX) – Nominations are now being accepted for the 2026 Hall of Fame Class of the African American Education Archives and History Program (AAEAHP). The Educators’ Hall of Fame each year identifies and recognizes educators and others for outstanding contributions to the educational experiences of African Americans in Dallas County. 

Nominees can be historical and contemporary and should have made significant contributions in educating African American students.  Nominees must have a minimum of 15 years in the profession and must have been retired three years from a full-time position. Since 2004, one hundred and ninety-three individuals have been inducted into the AAEAHP Hall of Fame and 42 special awards have been presented recognizing outstanding members of the community.

The AAEAHP Educators’ Hall of Fame exhibit is housed at the African American Museum Dallas and includes noted icons such as Dr. Emmett Conrad, Kathlyn J. Gilliam, Dr. Yvonne A. Ewell, Sam Tasby, Dr. Marvin E. Edwards, Curtistene Smith McCowan, Pastor Zan Wesley Holmes Jr., Rev. C.B.T. Smith and Thomas G. Jones.

DEADLINE

  • The deadline to submit a nomination is Saturday, July 19, 2025. 
  • Nominations must be postmarked by July 19, 2025, to be considered for the 2026 Hall of Fame.
